God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Psalm 67:1-2

I received an email on Sunday January 6, 2008, a request for prayer from one of our Heart to Heart Buddies, Mary T. I am sure that this testimony will be of great encouragement to many.

This was her request: ”Hi Guys - I know all of you believe in prayer, so I wanted to ask if you would lift my brother Gene up tomorrow 1/7. He will be having an angiogram done and depending on what they find, they might have to do surgery. Gene’s health has not been that good, so he needs favor from the Lord. Thanks Love, Mary

On Monday, I received this email, from Mary T.:Hi There – I just wanted to thank you for praying for my brother Gene.  God answers prayers in a mighty way.  My brother was told originally that he had several heart attacks and that he had about 18 months if he didn’t do anything about his heart, so they suggested an angiogram to determine how much damage and at that time they would put a stent or he might have to have a bypass.  Well we came together in prayer and God showed favor.  When he had the procedure done today the doctor said there was nothing wrong with his heart. He said it was a strong heart and he was like a stud.  My brother said before the surgery that he felt that he had already been healed but he wanted to do what the doctor’s told him, so he went through with it.  Well we’re so glad he was right.  They sent him home this evening and we are blessed that God showed his GLORY. Thank you again for your prayers.  They were answered in a mighty way.  Love, Mary

On Tuesday, Mary T. forwarded an email with the following:

Subject: Healed!!
On
January 7th, 2008 a miracle was sent down from heaven by the Lord.  Some people don’t believe healings of the miraculous can happen these days but yesterday was a prime example of how God’s glory still shines today. In the summer of 07′ my father, Gene V. suffered multiple mild heart attacks. He noticed a decrease in the activity he was doing after these events took place. Not knowing what had happened he enrolled himself in an 8 week program that monitored his blood, blood sugar and heart levels. The tests came back confirming that he had heart trauma/heart attacks prior to the test. Because of this he obviously felt a need to get it re-evaluated by a specialist. They brought him in to San Antonio hospital in Upland for some more testing and confirmed that there were heart malfunctions and that possible coronary artery disease was very/highly likely. The only question was how much damage was done. We prayed long and hard and sought God’s word through this whole process because no one wants to see a person go through open heart surgery because there could be a chance that the person is not coming back. Nevertheless we trusted in the Lord and his unfailing ability to heal those who believe. My aunt Mary prayed over my father as well as countless others to ask for God’s healing power upon my father. And with all of our heart we believed and stuck to the words that the Lord has said throughout scripture. We knew my father was going to be going into surgery in early January so we began to pray constantly for God’s provision.

On 12/28/07 I read this verse (the old open the bible and see what God says sort of thing) because I believe the Lord was going to speak to me to give me confirmation of his word. I asked the Lord to speak to me regarding my father and provide his word so that I might understand.  On this day I read this:Ezekiel 36:26 says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be my people, and I will be your God. I will deliver you from all your uncleanness.”  Reading further down…the Lord promises that it will be for his Glory, that he has spoken it, and he will do it!I said to myself, “OK LORD!” I knew right then that the Lord was going to do something great, for his Glory. On January 7th, 2008 we took my father in for the Angioplasty, which would take a look at how much damage had been done. They were prepared to either stick a balloon in the clogged artery, or replace the valves which meant bypass surgery. At around 1:15pm the doctor came back from doing the procedure and said that we need not fear……”He has a heart like a young man, like a STUD.” I was so stunned I did not know what to think or say or do or feel or what!

My father’s heart had been completely healed by the LORD! The Lord showed his glory in the most profound way and I thank him constantly for the gift that he has given my father.Jesus is Lord and the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever.  By his wounds we are healed. How many times do you hear in scripture that JESUS tells those he healed, “Your faith has made you well.”God can heal all those who believe and trust his word. No matter what the doctors tell you, no matter what tests tell you, no matter what the devil tries to tell you, you must rebuke it all in the name of Jesus because he will deliver you…..if you only believe.

God Bless you all!  Praise the Lord – Jehovah Jirah for all.  Thanks! – Denny V.

Healing Rain by Michael W. Smith   From: Charlesc28

Healing rain is coming down
It’s coming nearer to this old town
Rich and poor, weak and strong
It’s bringing mercy, it won’t be long
Healing rain is coming down
It’s coming closer to the lost and found
Tears of joy, and tears of shame
Are washed forever in Jesus’ name
Healing rain, it comes with fire
So let it fall and take us higher
Healing rain, I’m not afraid
To be washed in Heaven’s rain
Lift your heads, let us return
To the mercy seat where time began
And in your eyes, I see the pain
Come soak this dry heart with healing rain
And only You, the Son of man
Can take a leper and let him stand
So lift your hands, they can be held
By someone greater, the great I Am
Healing rain, it comes with fire
So let it fall and take us higher
Healing rain, I’m not afraid
To be washed in Heaven’s rain
To be washed in Heaven’s rain… Healing rain is falling down
Healing rain is falling down
I’m not afraid
I’m not afraid…

Seeking after God – Kairos 2008 Welcome

As the year ended and another began, my spirit was prompted to say as David the Psalmist said: “Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-”- Psalm 103:1-2

Yes indeed, God’s grace has been over family and friends as we forged through 2007.  It was a year to be either on our knees and then just standing in faith. If we had not had the regular diet of prayer and scripture to sustain us we would have fainted in our paths. This was a year that tested the very core of our faith.  Many members of our families and friends had to go through the fire, there was no way around it, but the intense fire purified our persuasion.

This year let us raise our standard of Christian living. Be a responsible Christian. Don’t compromise your walk with God. There is nothing on this earth worth the loss of our heavenly relationship.  Romans 8:38-39 reads: “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Let’s get back to living right and being in the world but not of the world.  Let us seek after God’s own Heart, what his will and purpose for us is, and not what we consider our purpose to be.  Be aware of God’s presence and purpose in and for everything, including our family ties, friendships, jobs, and connections. Look for him in the big and small of things. If you live your life aware you will see him.  Let us seek the daily manna, and as we gather our portion, that which we need for that day, we will be strengthened in mind, body and spirit.

My father was a boxer, and he believed in “going the distance.”  This year rise to the challenge and purpose in your heart that your “God dreams” will not die.  Purpose that you will renew your relationship with the Lord.  Set apart a time to spend with the Lord each day. It is not easy, but begin by reading the Word of God, then applying the principles to daily life. As we begin 2008, let us continue to sow His word with faith and hope and let’s stay hungry for God’s word, and imparting his message.

2008 brings a hunger for God and God things.  Many Christians across the world are joining in a 21-day fast. Fasting brings a fresh wind in your walk with God. What better time than the new year to resolve a closer encounter with the Lord. A time set apart to “hear” from God, to seek direction and set a time apart to commune in a special way with God. 2 Timothy 2:21 (NIV)  If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.  In a world, where emphasis is placed on physical exercise and being your best, why not put that same effort into your spiritual self.  I know I am not disciplined in my physical being, and this year my prayer is to surrender that area to God. I know my physical muscles are weak, and my spiritual muscles could use work also. I encourage you to seek after God through fasting. It will set your course for the year. There are so many types of fast, and I have found that the following website has been so helpful in giving guidelines to fasting. There is also a 21-day fasting blog at:  www.jentezenfranklin.org

Be fit and strong in the Lord. Seek the ultimate empowerment and be filled with the Holy Spirit.  Tap into the joy of the Lord. I have found this verse to be uplifting.

The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places”.  Habakkuk 3:19
