One Pearl of Great Price…

Mary T. sent yet another testament to God’s grace. As I read the account of God’s kindness and goodness towards us, a Word came to me:

Choli – Hebrew word meaning – sickness, disease, grief

Contemplating what I had just read from Mary T., regarding how the Lord continues to use her and Rachel G., and the Word received, the following scriptures were brought to memory as confirmation of God’s goodness.

Matthew 13:45-46 (King James Version)45) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46) Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

(Isaiah 53:4-5)Surely He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains …
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;
the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

It was then that I knew the title for this posting.

You are invited to read “One Pearl of Great Price” as follows:

Hi There (From Mary T.) – I am so excited.  Let me share what Rachel and I have been doing. There was a young girl that I had heard about who had cancer and she wasn’t doing very well.  I had told my friend if I could have her number, but it seemed like an impossible task.  Well the lady that gives authorization to even call these cancer patients, gave me a direct call at work last Tuesday and asked if I would go and pray for her. She told me not to give false hope.  I agreed, but yet I knew The Holy Spirit would do what he wanted.

Well we arrived around 5:00.  I sat in my car waiting for Rachel to arrive and when I looked up I noticed a truck across the street that looked like my cousins, (a cousin that I have never been to his house).  Somehow I remembered his street address from Christmas Cards, so I went over there and when my cousin opened the door she said “O My God you have been on my mind for 2 days, your here to pray for our neighbor.  The Lord wanted me to call you, but I got busy and here you are”  “Praise God”. I started to laugh because I knew it was a divine appointment.

When Rachel arrived we went to the house and it was full, probably around 15 people.  I said we were here to pray for Ruby, but we needed to be in agreement.  They agreed.  I asked them if they wanted to receive the Lord and they all repeated the Sinners Prayer.  What an exciting moment.

We thought there would only be a few of us to go in the bedroom with Ruby, but the whole family went in with us.  I started to lay hands on Ruby and just prayed in the Spirit.  I asked the Lord what He wanted to say to Ruby and we closed our eyes and waited.  The Lord told Ruby that everything was going to be alright and this was going to be her testimony.

We praised the Lord and I continued to pray for the whole family.  The mother was sick also, so we lifted her up too.  The Lord was showing Rachel all kinds of things. We just went with the flow. The Lord was moving. We left feeling great.

Well Rachel and I went back on Sunday to go and bless the house, Rachel blew the Shofar and I anointed all the doors with oil.  Ruby received the Lord and we gave her communion.  She and her sister felt an evil spirit in their room and could never sleep peacefully. We found out that the father used to offer up animal sacrifices.  I threw all those weird things away.

We placed the Tallit on the mothers head and God was showing that there needed to be some repentance.  When she repented she invited the Lord in her heart and then she saw the Glory of God and a man with a shawl over his head.  We knew it was the Lord. I heard the Lord say, He is knocking at the door of your heart will you let me in.  She said yes and right before Rachel and I left, I walked down the hall and could smell the fragrance of sweet flowers, so did Rachel.  We knew the Lord had made a visit.  Praise God.

Well today the mother called me early saying Ruby was tired and she wanted to die, I felt so bad. I told her I would stop by after work.  Well God showed up again in a mighty way. I went to encourage her, I knew she was real tired.  I told her that God had saved her that day when she received him.  If she decided to go, she would have everlasting life. But I also told her that God can still heal even when it looks the worse.  I prayed over her in the spirit and I put a towel over her head, because I didn’t have a Tallit with me.  I asked the Lord to tell her something to encourage her and He told her that she was SPECIAL, her face lit up like a light. She couldn’t believe that God thought this of her.  We praised Him and she was so excited.  I told her that her name was Ruby, because God saw her as a Jewel the spirit was just working.  Her despair turned to hope once again.  I asked the Lord to tell her something else, like what should she do, and He told her to eat fruits and to drink milk. I couldn’t believe what was taking place.  God was instructing her what needed to be done. Right before I left, the mother showed me the tumor on her side, so I layed hands on it and I kept hearing rock, rock, rock. The mother, Ruby and a neighbor (my cousin) looked at me funny, because the doctors just told them, that if the chemo works the tumor would turn into a rock and dissappear.  She had just started chemo recently.  Is God awesome or what.

I had to share this story, because it is amazing what God is doing, with us simple folk.  There are so many more stories.  This is just one of them.  I left out alot of other details.  When we get together we can share more.    Please keep Ruby in prayer, we are believing for good things to come.  Love, Mary T.

Pressing Toward the Mark

Filed under: Counseling, Heart, Jesus, Life, Devotional, Family, Prayer, Hope, Purpose, Marriage — kairoskingdomwomen @ 4:31 am

Philippians 3:14 (KJV) – I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

As we press toward the mark, God is gracious and faithful to provide divine appointments and divine connections and eternal friendships.  Isn’t it beautiful to know that those we have formed friendships with in Christ, are bonds that are eternal if we continue in the Lord.

You know a divine connection, that is when your spirit is stirred within you, when you feel that you are walking in your destiny and see others living their God dreams and part of the royal lineage. Kingdom people whose goal is to nurture committed believers and reach the lost and those who have strayed from a full commitment to Christ. Divine connections are people with a single mind; like-mindedness in Christ. They are people pressing toward the mark; that means there is a reward that is causing you to push your way through. Some of the people pressing forward with us have the finish line in sight, don’t’ falter now, get your second wind, and run valiantly to the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Now all of that does not mean that you will have an easy life, on the contrary my friend, you will find yourself in a continual sifting process, having to dodge obstacles in the course of the race. This is the marathon of all marathon’s, and just as the others are running right along with you, it gives you strength to move on, it helps you pace yourself, so that you can persevere until the end. That is why, this year seek prayer partners and accountability partners, so that you can run the race and endure.  For those of you who partook of the writing God gave me last year: “Chandallah”, I received a Word- Tsaba. It is a Hebrew word that means an “organized host” or “army” of footsoldiers: Tsaba.  That is what we are foot soldiers in a race.

Divine appointments.  You know when we come to the Lord, we become his promised. It is time to stop living like we are only engaged to the Lord. He has also given us a wedding ring. He has sealed our agreement. Let’s have a faithful commitment to God.  Break the wrong relationships and influences, and place divine friendships as a priority. Wrong and sinful choices bring us into our circumstances, but repentance brings restitution. Let there be accountability and reconnecting with Godly people who are qualified to give hope. Then restoration is full.

Where are you right now? Are trying to blend in so no one sees your doings. God knows your walk, your coming and your going.  If you are serving God faithfully and you feel like you are permanently living in a valley, trust in God, no matter how it looks, trust that he is making all your crooked paths straight, and he is making all things work for good, because you love the Lord, and you are called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

These thoughts were on my mind when we met at our recent Heart-to-Heart and found other women who were also of the same mind to keep moving forward.  In order to move forward, you have to look forward and set your eyes on your goal, set your eyes on God. When you look to God you find your purpose, you find your calling, you find fulfillment. Let’s move on to higher blessings and higher ground.

If those in our email circle and Heart-to-Heart circle recall, I had written that it was impressed upon me to address “Marriage issues”. For many months, this was so insistent in my Spirit.   I felt that I should not write of these things because I am not married or qualified.  I received two words:

I put this to prayer and asked the Lord to provide a way for me to “post” about these things. All this stirred within me, when not by accident, but by divine connection, Dr. Diana White Johnson contacted me and asked if I would like someone to write on the topic of Marriage.  I should not have been amazed, but I was!  So this is a prime example of divine appointments, and divine connections.

So it is that I am blessed to feature a regular contributor to this blog: Dr. Diana White Johnson.  She and her husband, Pastor Joe Johnson Pastor the Church “Risen Son of Faith Christian Center” (http://www.rsofcc.com).  They have also formed Foundations for Healthy Families which is a ministry for couples and families, but also counselors in the area of substance abuse, domestic violence intervention, Anger management and Administrators for the Rancho Cucamonga chapter of The Association of Christian Drug and Alcohol counselors. Please pray for their ministries and God’s provision in all areas as they labor for the Lord.

Touch of the Master’s Hand

This last weekend, February 2, 2008, we gathered at our Heart to Heart meeting. Precious women of God came together, left behind important tasks, and never-ending to-do lists.

My heart was so touched to see two women especially, Eleanor and Florentina.  Just by looking at them you know they both came with expectant hearts. They came seeking after God.  I observed them during the course of our time together.  They were not there only for the fellowship, or the food, or to hear what new things God had done in our lives, no they were there for the most important thing-the main course.  They were eager to hear God’s Word and apply it to their lives. They both sat at the edge of their seats most of the time.

I thought of Caleb, who had held on to the promise, and believed God’s Word. His promise came to him later in life.  These two women were like Caleb who had not taken their eyes off of the promise.  Caleb like Joshua did not give a negative report about the Promised Land; instead they believed and encouraged others to have faith in God.

I was blessed to be in their presence and learn from them. Caleb knew that God would not take them where he could not deliver them. God would make a way. Because of their faith and courage God allowed these two men, out of the multitude who had traversed the desert that these two would come into the promise.

My heart was blessed when we gathered to pray, and Mary asked who needs prayer…Florentina and Eleanor were among the first. They received their double portion, just like Caleb, who not only entered into the promise, but was also given an inheritance.  Caleb, Joshua, and now Florentina and Eleanor stepped into God’s plan for abundant life.

My Savior My God by Aaron Shust [ Dove Awards '07 ]

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at his right hand
Stands one who is my Savior
I take him at his word and deed
Christ died to save me this I read
And in my heart I find a need
For him to be my Savior
That he would leave his place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior
My Savior loves, my Savior lives
My Savior’s always there for me
My God he was, my God he is
My God he’s always gonna be
Yes, living, dying; let me bring
My strength, my solace from this spring
That he who lives to be my king
Once died to be my Savior
That he would leave his place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

My Savior loves, my Savior lives
My Savior’s always there for me
My God he was, My God he is
My God he’s always gonna be
