The Torn Veil. The Holy Spirit keeps ministering to my spirit regarding Esther.
Anyhow, as I reread the posting, the Holy Spirit promped the Word “mishpakha” (family in Hebrew), and I stopped in my tracks, and was silent trying to comprehend the message. You see when I post an article or writing, I also receive the message as a “reader”. I “understand” differemtly when I “write” than when I “read”.
So I mentally go over what I know to be true about the Book of Esther. I recall Mordecai is “family” (uncle) to Esther, and from the line of Benjamin. Then it struck me, yes, Esther was from the line of Benjamin. I contemplate that the video song “Your Love Is Extravagant” which I was prompted to use, is sung by the “Tribe of Benjamin.” A coincidence? I think not!
I felt it in my spirit to go over the Book of Esther once more, so in obedience, I reread the Book of Esther, diligently looking for “treasures” I must have missed. Then I read the portion where Mordecai advised Esther not to reveal that she was Jewish, so she kept it a secret.
I receive a Word or phrase in the language from Queen Esther’s kingdom, the Persian Language, otherwise known as Farsi. The phrase is: “Poshte pardeh”, meaning “behind the curtain.” After I recover from the awesome Word gift that the Holy Spirit has presented, I am thrilled to read more into it, and see what other “Pearl” I find.
As I ponder, this I see that Esther was “behind the curtain”in a way, as she had to hide the fact that she was Jewish. Then I look up the significance of “behind the curtain” as it pertains to the Persian culture, but as you know, in the Middle East, everything has layers and significance, and that includes, the language, the clothes, and so much more. At http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IslamicNewsUpdates/message/, I find the following: “describes the dual Iranian life: a public face, prescribed by law and obligation, and a private life conducted behind closed doors.”
My spirit sees beyond the above description and am led to Hebrews 6:19 which reads (see the two versions below):
International Standard Version (©2008)
”That hope, firm and secure like an anchor for our souls, reaches behind the curtain”
King James Bible
”Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil…”
I stop to reflect on God’s Word, I see that Esther’s obedience gave her access to the King, and the Throne room. Our Lord Jesus Christ by his blood, death and resurrection, gives us access to God and the Throne room also. Law and obligation as it continues in some cultures, was broken, torn and removed through our Lord Jesus. Matthew 27:50 -51 reads: And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook and the rocks split.
A decicion was made as Esther laid down her life, (“if I perish, I perish”) before she entered the Throne Room, and later shed the internal curtain, and told her King, that she was Jewish, and gained access to all in the kingdom through the marriage contract, so to Christ chose to lay down his life before his Father, bringing down the curtain and establishing access to the Throne and a New Covenant.
Tear down that veil which is confining your life. Tear the veil and enter into the Holy of Holies, made possible by the Holy of Holies, yes enter into His presence. It is too extensive a study to cover in this post, (and “who am I Lord to expound on such a subject”), but if we consider that a veil separted the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies, we can reflect that sometimes we are satisified with just listening to Biblical Stories and such. But I dare you to tear that curtain down, for you will find the “Mercy Seat” just beyond the curtain, in the Holy of Holies.
Can you imagine, we have that same opportunity, to bring down the curtain and veils that we hide behind, that we use as a crutch, that which separates us from God. The tearing down of the curtain, or coming away from behind whatever curtain is hindering will grant you one to one access, 24 / 7, 365 days a year, not only on one special day, for the Day of Atonement is today, the Mercy Seat (Jesus Christ) is avialable and there just for you and me.
Just like Esther had to make a decision, there came a time in my life, where I had to bring down the curtain ,and make a decision. A decision for Christ. Read the following with me:
John 3:16 (KJV)says: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 Peter 3:18 reads: “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit”
How many curtains are hiding messes, hiding the unclean, and those places behind the curtains are dark places. Is your curtain worn with the ravages of time and sin, your efforts at stitching, just making more of a mess. Imagine, just on the other side of your curtain, your self-imposed barrier is sunshine (sonshine), rays of light, warmth and healing, life abundant, fresh air, living water and eternal life.
The sacrifice of Jeus has removed the veil of separation between us and God. Hebrew 4;16 reads: “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Just like Esther, we too can come into His presence with favor in His eyes granted to us through Jesus Christ, by saying this prayer: God the Father, your Son Jesus made it possible to tear down all the curtains covering my sin. With the shedding of the blood of Jesus for me, through His love and sacrifice, Jesus has taken me out of darkness and placed me in the light of your love and granted me salvation and eternal life. I confess my sins and repent of living separate from you. I come before you with the full assurance that I have been saved, and am a new creation in Christ.
