Ma Kore….

Thanks for stopping by.

You know back in April,  I was reviewing some  new exciting things by email with Liz, and she kindly asked for some input, so as I prayed, and I asked the Lord about it, I heard in my Spirit, “Ma Kore.”  I then learned it is an informal way of saying (in Hebrew) “what’s doing?” like in “what’s happenning?”.   I have found the Lord can be humorous.

So, what’s “Ma Kore” around here? Well, there is much happening in the right hand side column. Many are participating in the reading of “Pilgrim’s Progress.”

How about the “Love Dare Challenge” by “4 Marriage Matters”, it is posted so that you can start anytime at Day 1 and go on for the 40 day challenge.  These are ”good words” for non-married people too!

Update: just added a new page (right hand column) with fresh devotionals daily from the “Transformation Garden” – Thank you Dorothy Valcárcel, Author of  “When A Woman Meets Jesus”, for permission to link with your site. Just find the page titled “Transformation Garden Devotionals” on the right hand side, and click on any of the green headings and you will be able to access a fresh devotional daily!

And since it is June, as a former “Wedding Accessories and Flowers” entrepreneur (with my sister of course – years ago), and June being a prime month for weddings, I just had to share something to remind us of the ultimate marriage ceremony, “The Marriage Supper of the Lamb.”  Check out Christ Centered - ”Marriage Songs”

Blessings, and share what’s “Ma Kore” with you and God.

    In Flight…A Call to Prayer

Filed under: 1, Jesus, Life, Devotional, Family, Prayer, Hope, Purpose — kairoskingdomwomen @ 9:55 am

    Greetings friends and family:

Today, as I was coming up the steps of the back porch, I heard a screech in the air above me, I looked up just in time to see a raven swoop down on a hawk.  A scuffle in mid-air ensued.  I was compelled to watch the struggle play out, and I watched as the hawk overtook the raven.

I remembered the Word Khaga: (a bird or moving air). It is a Sanskrit word. The Holy Spirit had given me that Word in 2007.

As I hurried to finish up my chores inside my home before starting my “real work”, the Word Khaga and the screech of the birds kept sounding in my mind. It was so insistent that I stopped and asked the Lord, what was I supposed to learn from this?

I knew I had to intercede for someone, so I began to look at that Word. I went back to the Word study I had done in 2007. I saw that the Word Khaga is a Sanskrit Word. An ancient language connected to Hinduism. Just then my heart began to beat very fast, as I remember that one of our dear sisters, Martha Rodriguez and the group traveling with her is still in India on a missionary trip through May 30, 2009.

With more insistence the Word Khaga and the scenario of the birds in mid-air played out in my mind.  The following scripture lept into my mind:

    Ephesians 6:11-13 (King James Version)

11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Let us join in prayer today for our sister Martha, and the brothers and sisters who are part of the group, who are in India as we “speak”.  Let us pray for a covering of protection over them from the spiritual wickedness in high places, and against principalities and powers.  We bind every evil spirit and every evil force that is trying to stop the Word of God to go forth in India, as he uses this special group of brothers and sisters.  We ask for safe travel from destination to destination.

As I pray, I remember the scene of the birds in mid-air, and I smile as I recall that the Hawk overtook the Raven.  Hawks are birds of prey, like an Eagle.  Yes Lord, I am reminded of the following through studies done in the past from Bible Dictionaries and Word Searches:

    •  The bible shows the eagle as God’ protection over us and covers us with his wing span and shelters us.
    • We can also consider that the eagle is swift, and as he flies over he has power in his movements.  He reaches heights no other bird can.  He makes his nest, his living quarters high up above in the mountains.
    •  Eagles are a symbol of power, courage, and immortality.
    •  The eagle soars in the wide open spaces among the clouds of heaven.
    •  The eagle represents God’s care for His people.
    •  The eagle is a messenger.
    •  The eagle has fantastic focused vision, and can see things coming before they are close.
    •  Also the Book of Revelations depicts the birds of prey (falcon, hawks, vultures) in the final defeat of the enemy.

These are all things to consider and what they typify about God’s provision for this group traveling in India.

A number of passages refer to birds as symbols of God’s protection, love and care.

Exodus 19:4 shows God as the loving Parent who protects His people just as the parent eagle cares for its own.

Deuteronomy 32:11 notes that the parent eagle (God) “Stirs up her nest” and “flutters over her young (that’s us)” and “spreads abroad her wings” and “bears them on her wings.”

Lastly, eagles symbolize a type of person:

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint –  Isaiah 40:31.

Today, as we pray in one accord, and offer up thanksgiving to the Lord for the things He is doing in India, let us take on the flight of the eagle, and soar into high places.  Amen…Your Sister in Christ, Alma

Memorial Day: A Day of Remembrance

Filed under: Jesus, Life, Devotional, Family, Prayer, Hope, Purpose — kairoskingdomwomen @ 5:54 pm

Remembering the Sacrifice – Honoring our Military Men and Women

Memorial Day is a day to remember the Men and Women in our Military who have fallen in our Nation’s wars.  We tend to think of it as another day off from work or school, and we gather for picnics and family gatherings or terrific shopping opportunities.

Although it is a day to remember the fallen:

    • Do we remember to pray for the families left behind of those fallen in combat?
    • Do we commend the current men and women in our armed forces in the different service branches to the Lord?
    • Do we stop and appreciate with a heart of gratitude that these men and women have left everything, to put their lives on the line.
    • Let’s pray for our Commander in Chief, the Joints Chief of Staff, those serving in the Pentagon, the Army, the Marines, the Navy, the Air Force, and let’s not forget the Coast Guard and Reserves, and the National Guard, who all have their functions, as well as the Special Op teams in different branches of service, and NORAD.
    • Let’s pray for those in the Military Academies who are in preparation.
    • We should also pray for the border patrol

As I was preparing this post, the Holy Spirit prompted me to look up NORAD’s function. On their website, it says “NORAD has proven itself effective in its roles of watching, warning, and responding.”  http://www.norad.mil/about/index.html

That is also the role of every Christian – “watching, warning, and responding.” As Christian’s praying for our Country, and the World Leaders, we too are a vital part to our Homeland Defense.  Prayer starts in our homes, and our sphere of influence.

If you know someone, who has lost a family member who was in the armed forces, or currently has someone enlisted, let’s stop and thank them for their great sacrifice for our freedom at home and abroad. Pray for the leaders of our Government and wise choices concerning our men and women, and Our Country.

    I Timothy 2:1-2
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority over you; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

To the families, friends, and loved ones of those brave men and women, there is another Who paid a great price for our freedom.  His name is Jesus.  Our father God understands your pain and sacrifice.  He will sustain you and love you through your questioning. He will lift your spirit, and one day the darkness will lift, and you will be able to praise Him through your pain.  Remember that he has given us hope in a hereafter if we are in Christ.

Please go to the right column on this page scroll down to May 2008 and you will find a tribute Dedicated to the Men and Women of the United States Armed Forces and Their Families who have given their all to keep us safe and free.

Again, to All the families who are hurting, thank you for your sacrifice!  May God bless your families.

    Running to Win…

I am posting this from Marriage Matters Ministry, from the “Moments Together for Couples”, as it is also relevant to every person, men and women, married and unmarried.  Thank you to:

     Running to Win (Part One)

    1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that those who run in a race, all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.

I had lunch once with a serious runner, an ultra-marathoner. Max Hooper has a unique will to win. After surgery on both knees, Max was told he would never run again. Three months later he ran a 2:47 marathon and qualified for the Boston Marathon.

But Max’s ultimate race was completed years earlier in some of the most hostile environments our planet could offer a runner. The start: Badwater, California, in the oven of Death Valley, 282 feet below sea level, the lowest point in the United States. The finish: the refrigerated summit of Mount Whitney at 14,494 feet, the highest altitude in the contiguous United States. Total distance: 146 miles.

Max and a marine buddy completed the task in 63 hours, 12 minutes. Max wore out three pairs of running shoes and his feet swelled two sizes by the time he reached the summit.

You and I run in a similar race. It’s a race that God has set before each of us, and it takes place on a course of extremes. Life is a race for every Christian. It is a race you and I must finish…and win.

In the Christian life, there are at least five kinds of runners:

The Casual Runner - He runs when he feels like it. For this Christian, the sacrifice demanded by the race is just too high.

The Cautious Runner –  He thinks a lot about the race, but he plays it safe and seldom leaves the starting blocks.

The Compromised Runner -  Unwilling to lay aside present pleasures, he has given into temptations to run outside his prescribed lane. He has few convictions and takes no costly stands in life.

The Callous Runner –  This veteran runner is a cynic and is critical of people. Preoccupied with his injuries, his heart contains layers of thick, tough tissue made of bitterness, envy or apathy.

The Committed Runner –  This person is determined to win and knows where the finish line is. “In training” at all times, he knows victory is never achieved by the fainthearted.

Prayer: Ask God for the strength to finish the race that is set before you, and that as you run you will “feel His pleasure.”

Discuss: What kind of runner best describes you? Why?

    Breast Cancer Petition..

Filed under: Heart, Purpose — kairoskingdomwomen @ 7:34 pm

    Breast Cancer Petition

The Bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act Needs Your Support!

Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-Connecticut) and Joe Barton (R-Texas) and Senators Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) recently re-introduced the bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act in Congress. Thanks to its viewers, Lifetime has so far collected more than 23 million online petition signatures urging Congress to pass this critical legislation, which would end the practice of so-called “drive-through” mastectomies when women are forced out of the hospital only hours after invasive breast cancer surgery.

Help restore patient and consumer rights to breast cancer patients and their families:

    • Sign Lifetime’s growing petition. Lifetime will continue to deliver the signatures to Congress and make your voice heard.
    • Call or write your members of Congress and ask them to support the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act. You may reach your member of Congress by calling the U.S. House of Representatives switchboard at 202-225-3121. To find your representative in Congress, go to: http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW.shtml [2].

I support the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act.

    Swine Flu Prayer Strategy

Filed under: Jesus, Life, Devotional, Family, Prayer, Hope, Purpose — kairoskingdomwomen @ 6:21 pm

Isn’t it apropos that the first strong candidate for a pandemic flu or virus the health people have been warning us was coming would turn out to be Swine Flu? Texas and other cities in the U.S. have seen a sudden increase in confirmed reports of this flu, and deaths from it. It is something that we should not shrug off, but pray about. Not panic, but seek a word of the Lord to speak to it.

The past week I have been reading in Exodus – when God was sending plagues on the Egyptians.

At a certain point in the midst of plagues God began telling Moses that He would put a division between the Egyptians and His people who lived apart from the Egyptians in the land of Goshen. Goshen means “drawing near” so God was saying He would put a distinction between His people who are drawing near and those who are not His, do not obey His Word nor have a regard for His presence in their lives.

The plagues would be on the rest of Egypt, but in the land of Goshen where the Israelites lived – the plagues would not come nigh their dwellings.

Later, when the death angel would claim all the first born of Egypt, God instructed the children of Israel to put the blood of the lamb over their doorposts in Goshen and not to come outside until morning, because every human and animal firstborn not covered by the blood would be struck dead.

I believe we should speak for our family and friends as this Swine Flu sweeps through – a covering of the blood of Jesus over them all.

The promise of the Word of God is in Job 22:30
    “He will even deliver one who is not innocent;
Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.”

Father, we pray the covering of the Blood of the Lamb over our loved ones to be protected from this Swine Flu epidemic. We ask that You would make a division between Your children so that this plague does not come nigh our doors and households.

We also intercede and speak for those without a voice or knowledge of the Son of God to call upon You for help in this hour of need – that the enemy cut off none who will ultimately respond to Your salvation, Yeshua, whose very name means salvation. We speak the Blood of the Lamb over our households, over our friends and that none be cut off before they that passed from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Light.

We speak to Swine Flu: Be stopped in your tracks, and cast into the sea – not the sea of humanity, but the place that drowns contagion. In Jesus’ name.
